UK Coach praises
versatility
of Kanon cricket ball machine
Cornwall ECB Level 3 coach Martin Roberts has this to say
about the Kanon machine:
"As a current Level 3 cricket coach, I am always looking for new
ideas, etc., which will help me when developing cricketers. During
the winter of 1999 I toured South Africa with Cornwall Under 13's.
While there I saw a Kanon machine. The machine was so versatile that
I purchased one. Since then I ordered three more machines for the
County Coaching Association with a view to buying another six for
the District Cricket Coaching. I have also placed many more with
clubs throughout the UK.
"The machine is at present being used to develop close, skim and
high catching and with the aid of the extensions it is superb for
shot technique grooving. It builds young players' confidence when
learning backfoot strokes, as they will not get hurt if hit.
"The automatic feed added to cordless remote control allows you to
be with the pupil but still in control of the machine. This, added
with the consistent feed results, is a very useful tool which every
coach should not do without."
